No holidays gifts for my clients this year! €25 was donated to a good cause for each client in 2016. In total €300 was donated to the International Red Cross. Every year radio station 3FM organizes Serious Request. Three deejays enter a glass house for several days with limited food and make radio with interesting guests. This year the glass house was in Breda. Just 10 miles from my home. This made me think. And when I found out about this year’s good cause, I knew for sure!

How it all falls into place with marketing operations
When you check out my LinkedIn profile, you’ll read that it’s my life’s ambition to share knowledge and expertise with others to help others succeed. Through coaching, training, consulting, and speaking. No wonder I ended up in marketing operations. Just look at the definition: Helping marketing and other functions to excel in their commercial efforts. Yes, indeed! Helping others succeed. Suddenly my idea to make a donation, instead of handing out bottles of wine, was set in stone.
Making the donation in Breda
Right before Christmas I went to Breda with my wife and daughters. But before we left I designed a holiday season card for every client. We went early in the morning to avoid a big crowd. My wife took pictures of me holding each donation card. I wasn’t the only one holding and handing over donation cards! The actual money was in fact wired to the Red Cross for safety reasons. 11 times €25 for my clients. And of course €25 with the family (so about $325). In search for a good cause project
For those of you who are readaholics and read someone’s entire LinkedIn profile top-to-bottom… Does that ever happen? Since a few years the bottom of my LinkedIn profile states I’m interested to help out a good cause with my expertise. That would enable me to combine everything: my expertise in marketing operations, my passion for helping others succeed, and helping a good cause. I’m looking for an officially recognized cause for this. If you have any tips, please let me know.
